Uploading Files

Each team has an account and their own folders on ontrack.ncsu.edu Your login name is the name of your account. We'll use FTP (file transfer protocol) with Netscape or Internet Explorer to upload your files.

Naming Files

The file for your team home page should be named index.html

For team presentations, name your file with your team, the investigation name, and which presenter you are. The following examples are for team 5, presenter #1:

Community Brainstorming: team5-comm-p1

Population Growth: team5-pop-p1

Careers Investigation: team5-career-p1

Trash Investigation: team5-trash-p1

*** NO SPACES or CAPITAL LETTERS in filenames!! ***

Your Account

Each team has an account on ontrack.ncsu.edu. To load files on this account, open Internet Explorer and type the following replacing xxxx with your login ID, in Address
ftp://xxxx@ontrack.ncsu.edu

Team login IDs are: team1, team2, ..., team 11. You will be given a password for each account. The links below are for FTPing to your team accounts.

Upload files

To upload your files, click on www for web files, or the directory for your current investigation.

In Internet Explorer, drag the files you wish to upload into the browser window. You may also use Copy and Paste.

In Netscape, select File and Upload File, and choose your file from the browsing window.
