Girls on Track aims to keep talented girls in Wake County public schools on the fast math track through middle school, high school, and into college. The program is part of a three-year effort by NC State’s Center for Research in Mathematics and Science Education to boost interest in math-related careers among middle school girls.

Girls on Track is sponsored by NC State University, Meredith College, Wake County Public Schools and the State Department of Public Instruction. The project is partially funded by National Science Foundation Grant #9813902. In addition, an IBM award to NCSU’s Computer Science Department is partially funding the student’s computer access to e-mail and the Web.
